From Prompt to Print

Bring your vision to life—no design degree required.

Got an idea bouncing around in your head? AI is making it easier than ever to bring it out into the world—no design degree, fancy software, giant budget, or brave creative pitch required. We love the possibilities this opens up.

One of the trickiest parts of a graphic artist’s job is turning “I’ll know it when I see it” into exactly what a client imagined. Even if your AI-generated artwork isn’t quite ready for the press, it gives our artists a great creative compass. It shows us the style, mood, colors, and direction you have in mind.

From there, the Mint team will likely make a few production-friendly tweaks based on the decoration method—cleaning up details, adjusting colors, strengthening edges, or helping the artwork look its best on the garment.

We’re all in on this new wave of creativity, and we’re excited to explore it with you. To help your big ideas make a smooth trip from prompt to print, we’ve gathered a few hints that really help.

10 TIPS FOR AI-GENERATED T-SHIRT ART

Download the highest-resolution original. Aim for 300 DPI at final size – a 12 x 12 in design needs to be 3600 x 3600 px.

Ask for a print-ready T-shirt graphic with bold shapes, strong contrast, clean edges, and a centered composition.

Specify that you want an isolated graphic—no model, garment, scene, frame, or background.

PNG files support transparency. Zoom in and confirm the checkerboard is not baked into the image.

Avoid glow, haze, feathering, fuzzy halos, shadows, or semi-transparent pixels.

AI can misspell names, dates, and slogans. Generate the illustration, then add final lettering in a design app like Canva or ask our designer to incorporate it.

Name the garment color in your prompt and ask for enough contrast–without adding a solid rectangle behind the art.

Unless you want a poster-style look, request organic, irregular edges and no square frame or hard image boundary.

Screenshots, social posts, texts, and repeated resaves degrade detail. Keep the original AI download.

PNG is the safest choice for transparent art. JPEG can add edge artifacts and never supports transparency.

A MINT-READY PROMPT ADD-ON:

“Create [INSERT YOUR IDEA HERE] as professional artwork for apparel printing at the highest resolution available. Use bold shapes, strong contrast, detailed edges, and a centered composition for a large front print. Isolate the design on a transparent background with no garment, person, mockup, scene, or frame. Avoid blocky rectangular designs, glows, shadows, haze, and fuzzy outer edges. Do not generate text unless requested. Design for a [GARMENT COLOR] shirt.”
